Built Cybernetics plc is an AIM-quoted PropTech group that brings together technological expertise with architectural vision.

Smart buildings use the technology that is distributed throughout modern buildings – from electricity meters and ventilation systems to occupancy sensors and room booking software – to make spaces more efficient to operate and more enjoyable to use.

In a smart building, data from building systems is combined with predictive analytics and business logic to create a continuous feedback loop. The result is a built environment that adapts to occupants’ needs while reducing running costs.

Our history dates back to 1906 with the founding of the Walker & Gillette partnership in New York.

The UK practice was founded in London in 1972, and in 1988 became listed on the Official List of the London Stock Exchange under the name of Aukett Associates. The Group transferred to the Alternative Investment Market in April 2006 following the reverse takeover of Fitzroy Robinson Ltd (est. 1955) and renamed itself as Aukett Fitzroy Robinson Group Plc.

In 2013 the company acquired Swanke Hayden Connell in the UK, (the successor to Walker & Gillette), and renamed under the previous brand of Aukett Swanke Group Plc.

In 2023 the group acquired technology systems integrator Torpedo Factory Group, workplace technology business Anders+Kern, and energy efficiency software business ecoDriver. This marked an enhancement of our strategy, creating a listed Smart Buildings group.

In 2024 our Torpedo Factory Group business acquired Vanti, whose Master Systems Integration work and unique software products are well known in the smart buildings industry, and the TFG Intelligent Environments business adopted the Vanti brand.

In February 2025 Aukett Swanke Group plc changed its name to Built Cybernetics plc to better reflect our strategic focus as a PropTech group. With a revitalised management team, we are demonstrating both organic and acquisitive growth, building recurring revenues, and setting the foundation for improved shareholder returns.

Built Cybernetics plc’s shares are traded on the AIM section of the London Stock Exchange. As a group, we are uniquely positioned to leverage the new technologies that are redefining the built environment, and to integrate those technologies into new smart buildings from the outset.

The group is utilising its strategic position to add value to acquisitions in growing niches, all while bringing a new and improved offering to our valued and trusted client base. By cross-selling smart buildings services alongside our renowned architecture projects, the group’s new strategy positions Built Cybernetics plc to build beyond one-off project fees and generate recurring revenues for our investors.

The Company is exploring partnerships and investments that further its capabilities in machine learning, AI and cybernetics. These follow on from the Innovate UK funded programme to develop responsible AI for the built environment, and the Group’s ecoDriver business successfully introducing AI into its software that identifies wasted energy in hospitals, schools and commercial buildings.

Working with architects, contractors and developers, Veretec gives shape to project ambitions and translates design concepts into beautiful, sustainable and functional buildings.

 is a London-based Architecture, Masterplanning, and Interior Design studio dedicated to smart, sustainable design that has a lasting, positive impact on people and communities. Aukett Swanke have expertise in London, around the UK and in over 20 countries including work in offices, life sciences, hotels, residential, education, industrial and mixed uses.

Torpedo Factory Group – TFG Stage Technology

 is a Systems Integrator offering installation and maintenance services for theatrical, educational, and other performance venues that power interactive and collaborative user experiences. The company has an engineering heart, and a passion for creating amazing and reliable systems that ‘Wow by Design’.

Built Cybernetics owns a stake in the successful German architectural practice 

, now in its 33rd year of operations. Aukett + Heese has carried out work for high-profile clients, such as Siemens and Procter & Gamble, and employs over 150 people across its Berlin and Frankfurt offices.
